1. Purchase Your Ledger Device from the Official Source

To keep your assets safe, start by ensuring your Ledger hardware wallet is authentic. Always order from the official Ledger website at www.ledger.com or from a verified reseller listed there.

2. Unbox & Inspect Your Device

When your package arrives:

✅ Confirm that the packaging is sealed and undamaged.

  • Recovery phrase sheet
  • Quick start guide
⚠️ If anything appears tampered with, do not use the device. Contact Ledger Support via Ledger.com/Support.

3. Download the Ledger Live App

Ledger Live® is the official companion app to set up, manage, and monitor your crypto securely.

Once installed:

  1. Launch the app
  2. Click “Get Started”
  3. Select your device model

4. Set Up Your Ledger Device

Follow the on-screen setup instructions. You’ll be asked to:

  • Choose a PIN: This protects your device if lost or stolen
  • Write down your 24-word recovery phrase: This is your only backup
📝 Write the phrase on the provided sheet. Never take a photo or store it online.

If your device is lost or damaged, your 24-word phrase is the only way to restore your funds. Ledger never stores your recovery phrase—only you have access to it.

5. Add Crypto Accounts

Now that your device is ready, you can add crypto accounts in Ledger Live:

  1. Open Ledger Live
  2. Go to "Accounts" → "Add account"
  3. Choose your cryptocurrency (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum)
  4. Follow prompts to connect and verify using your Ledger device
